KACHA

Australia’s only women-forward recruitment company needed a logo. And a website. But first: they needed a name.

My brother and I come from a family that has made its name going into business on ideas, from my grandfather and a vision he had for his own company, my uncle and the largest manufacturer of hand made furniture in the world, through my mother’s multiple projects including Homeward Bound.

So it was a no brainer when my brother came to me with a plan to take his training in leadership development and women-forward leadership coaching, and start a new venture as the only recruitment company in Australia with a focus on women-forward initiatives for workplaces across the country.

Starting at the very beginning, I had the joy of drafting an entire naming document, something I’d always been drawn to but hadn’t yet had the opportunity. Once a name was chosen (try saying it with an Aussie accent and you’ll get the hidden meaning"), we explored brand marks and then brand identity.

The result was an elegant, aspirational voice stood out in a market filled with throwaway corporate speak. Working with one of my favourite photographers to capture frank, intimate portraits of women, Kacha’s identity was human, sleek, airy and elevated. One of my favourites.
