When my brother Tas and Alex came to me to help them build their wedding invite, little were we to know quite the expansive exercise in romantic branding it would explode into. Nor who would be the true star.
When I pitched them the painterly format of their wedding invite (calling people from around the world to a venue in rural Australia), with their young cockerspaniel Broccoli leading the way, they were instantly sold.
That swiftly developed into collateral for the entire wedding: welcome signs, seating arrangements, menus, a huge tryptich welcoming diners. All populated by their increasingly happy — and eventually passed out from gluttony — baby boy.
Coming from a family with line of painters going back two generations, working with Midjourney to iterate, and photoshop to build and tweak, was a way for me to nod to our history while ensuring iteration.
